Research Real Time understands that in the IT industry things can change rapidly. What was previously accepted practice can quickly become out-of-date. Real Time keeps abreast of the latest industry developments through a number of research initiatives to ensure that our customers are best placed to make strategic investment decisions.
One of the areas we are currently researching is the potential impact of Grid Computing and how this will relate to our customers’ business. Grid Computing is hailed as providing many potential opportunities to lower the Total Cost of Ownership and increase the efficiency of IT use to deliver competitive advantage.
In 2003 we joined with other leading industrial and academic partners, lead by The Imperial College London, in a project part-funded by the Department for Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (formerly DTI) which successfully demonstrated a working market place for Grid computing. You can find out more about this project, and download results and software at

.
Following on from the Computational Markets project, in 2006 we entered an international consortium to apply economic theories to the development of Grid markets. The Gridecon project is a Single Targeted Research Project (STREP) part-funded by the EU under its research Framework Programme 6 (FP6). You can find out more about this project at
