RT-SmartSecure  RT-SmartSecure is a mobile enterprise solution used to augment the traditional security functions on geographically large sites, allowing the secure and controlled provision of equipment and verification of patrol routes.
RT-SmartSecure has been developed in conjunction with a leading energy operator to provide enhanced security management within national energy infrastructure sites. Security officers are equipped with ruggedised PDA units communicating with a secure server onsite.
An officer on patrol uses the PDA to perform route checks, scanning barcodes on areas as the route progresses. The PDA communicates with the server via a secure wireless network, allowing collected data to be uploaded and allowing the server to download any updates on a regular basis. Defects/problems encountered on patrol can be recorded and automatically notified to the main server.
The system has been designed using a scalable and future-proof architecture delivered on a Windows CE / Windows Mobile platform, hosted on a number of Intermec handheld devices, such as the CN2.
